A Personal Spiritual Response to The Fear of Coronavirus.

I always believed that the fear of God is the answer to all fears. In fact, I have been preaching on this salient point for over a quarter of a century. “The fear of the Lord, spoken throughout scripture, is not normally meant to convey the idea of being frightened. Rather it carries the idea of awe and wonder, of joy and hope. The fear of the Lord is the beginning of wisdom, not because a person immediately understands Archaic Latin phrases and complex mathematics, but because the worshipper no longer longer sees only a fragmented world, but stands before the One who holds all things together (Prov 1:7;2:1-6;9:10;Ps 19:9; 111:10).

Fearing the Lord means that we are not left to our own resources to control and survive the elements of creation, but that we can trust the Creator who sustains that creation, controls the future and has our best interests at heart (Prov 23:17-18).” Kelly M. Kapic, A Little Book For New Theologians, p. 27

Therefore we can go about our existence in joyful worship of God, regardless of austere, prohibitive and life threatening surroundings. We can sing the song of redemption.
